Degrees of Freedom is a design-forward company creating innovative, mechanical keepsakes. Their flagship product, the Kinetacube Ring Box, uses a Möbius kaleidocycle mechanism so the six faces of the cube transform in one fluid motion to reveal its contents. Each box is etched with a custom star field tied to a special date, along with unique phrases to personalize the experience.

We love partnering with companies bringing truly inventive products to market. When Degrees of Freedom introduced us to the Kinetacube Ring Box, we knew we wanted to capture its design and motion in a way that matched the artistry of the piece.

Working with a shoestring budget, we engineered camera rigs to keep the boxes in constant motion, allowing the viewer to experience the mechanics in a seamless, captivating way. Lighting and lens choices emphasized texture, engraving detail, and the elegance of the movement. We licensed a track by Cody Francis that perfectly matched the emotional tone and sense of discovery in the product reveal.

The final content gave Degrees of Freedom a high-end visual asset library for both online and offline marketing. The videos successfully communicated the sophistication of the mechanism and the sentimental value of personalization, helping the product stand out in the crowded gifting and jewelry space.
